Privacy

Kuma collects nothing. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting service, and no server belonging to us for anything to be sent to. Your library, reading progress, bookmarks, and settings exist only on your device.

What stays on your device

• Your library, categories, reading progress, history, and bookmarks.
• App settings — theme, incognito, and which sources you have enabled.
• Chapters you download for offline reading.
• Any account tokens for a tracking service you connect, which are stored in the iOS Keychain.

None of it is transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to go. Deleting the app deletes all of it. A backup file you export is yours, saved where you choose in Files, and never uploaded anywhere by Kuma.

What leaves your device, and where it goes

Kuma makes network requests to services you or Apple have chosen — never to us:

• AniList — Kuma reads AniList's public catalogue to show what's trending and to power browsing. This works without an account and sends no personal information. See AniList's privacy policy.
• Sources you install — Kuma ships with no content source. When you install one, requests for search results, chapter lists, and page images go directly from your device to that source's servers. Those services are operated by third parties, are not affiliated with Kuma, and have their own privacy practices. Your IP address is visible to them, as it is to any website you visit.
• Tracking services — if you connect a service such as AniList or MyAnimeList, your reading progress is sent to that service at your instruction. Kuma never sees those credentials in transit; the access token is held in the iOS Keychain on your device.

Children

Kuma is not directed at children. Because content comes from sources you install rather than from us, we cannot review or classify it, which is why the app carries a mature age rating.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. If a future version of Kuma ever collects anything, that will be stated here before the version ships — not after.
