Sources

Your own comics: Library · ••• · Import comics, then pick a CBZ or zip from Files. It gets the reader, history and progress like anything else.

  • Chapters can be folders of images or zip files. Rar is a bit fussy.
  • Add a cover.jpg or a tiny details.json with a title, author, and blurb if you like.

Sources: More · Sources · paste the address of a source pack you already have. Kuma checks every file against the manifest before it runs; a pack we signed shows as Verified, anything else as Unverified. Remove one whenever you like.

Reading
  • Save for later: long-press a chapter, pick a few, then tap download.
  • Mark as read: long-press, then use the bottom bar to mark everything up to your pick.
  • Background downloads: turn them on in Settings, then open a chapter once if it needs a nudge.
  • Clear cache: More · General · Advanced · Clear Cache.

Sync
  • Trackers, not devices: Kuma has no account and nothing syncs between your phone and anything else. A backup file is the way across.
  • Stays put: shelves, history, bookmarks, downloads and logins, all on your phone.
  • Trackers: Kuma can update MyAnimeList and AniList when you finish a chapter.

Backups & migration

Back up first: More · Backup · Export .kuma backup. Find it in Files · On My iPhone · Kuma · backups.

  • A backup keeps titles, shelves, read chapters, history, and settings.
  • From a series, tap More · Migrate · search · choose a new home · confirm.
  • Saved chapters stay where they were, so downloads do not transfer automatically.

Moving to a new device: export a backup on the old one and restore it on the new one. Kuma has no account and no sync, so the file is the way across.
